Two New Crocodilian Species at Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary

Our sanctuary recently received approval to house 2 new species of crocodilian, the Indian Gharial, and Mugger Crocodile. This comes after a seven year wait. These species are both unrepresented in the American zoological collection and it is our hope that once we receive them we will be able to breed more in captivity. Additionally, these are the only two crocodilian species that we currently don’t have – so once we receive them, we will become only the second facility in the country to have every species on display.
