Specialty License Plates Raise Big Money for Arizona Charities

Ever wonder if the $25 you spent on a specialty license plate was worth it?  According to KTAR.com, the more than 390,000 specialty plates paid for in 2015 raised more than $6.5 million for Arizona charities.

The top seller was the Arizona Cardinals plate – bringing in just over $1 million in sales.  The money raised will go to Cardinals Charities, which supports women, children, and minorities.

The Arizona Veterans’ Donation Fund plate raised over $1 million while the Freedom / Military Support plate ranked 3rd at just over $520,000.

For each of the 60 specialty plates, $17 of the $25 cost goes towards a designated charity or nonprofit group.
