Sombrero Cookies

These are the cutest little cookies since gingerbread men.

It’s Cinco De Mayo…which means Mexican food, Margaritas and Sombrero…cookies? YES. These are the cutest little cookies since gingerbread men. They are super simple, super cute and yummy! The recipe should make around 16 cookies, but you can make them whatever size you please. I used the bottom of a shot glass to make the indent.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 16.5-oz. tube sugar cookie dough
  • 1 tube white decorating gel
  • 1 package sugar-coated gumdrops
  • rainbow nonpareils

DIRECTIONS:

Bake the cookies for about 12-15 minutes, remove them from the oven and let sit for ONE minute. Use the bottom of the shot glass to create the indent. Put a dollop of decorating gel in the middle of the cookie and place your gumdrop on the gel. While the gel is wet, sprinkle on colorful sprinkles. The rest of the cookie decorating is up to you… you can line the gel on the outside rim of the hat and cover with sprinkles, or put the gel in polka dots and drop sprinkles on those gel dots. That is the fun part!

Shoutout to Happy Cinco De Maya! Cheers.
