Wow, who knew brownies mixed with Tepary beans would taste so good! Pass me another one please. Before grocery stores or trading posts, the people of the Sonoran Desert ate the foods available to them. Today, those native foods are making a comeback for both nutritional and historic value. Velvet Button is in the studio to educate us and talk about the upcoming gala at the Pueblo Grande Museum. The event, celebrating the museum’s 90th anniversary will be held on April 28, 2019 and will feature native foods made with native ingredients. Velvet will be there to conduct cooking demonstrations with native foods.
