It’s time to grab a beer, a bite, and get the party started now!
Hopdoddy Burger Bar‘s general manager Chazz VanDercook wants us to start celebrating Oktoberfest now with a delicious Das Brat Burger. He’s visiting the Arizona Daily Mix set to show off this awesome creation to Danielle Williams.
The Das Brat Burger celebrates traditional German flavors with a bratwurst and potato patty, topped with homemade sauerkraut, lingonberry preserve, and Oktoberfest pickled mustard seed. The burger is paired with a local Oktoberfest beer from Lumberyard Brewing in Flagstaff, AZ. During the Oktoberfest special from September 22 – October 2, the Das Brat Burger + Oktoberfest Beer will be just $10.
Fun Oktoberfest Facts:
- Oktoberfest started in 1810
- Oktoberfest begins in September and not October because the weather is warmer and more pleasing, therefore it’s easier to attract more visitors to stay even longer and enjoy the beer (and festival) throughout the night.
- Locals in Germany call the festival Wies after the Theresienwiese, which is the name of the land where it takes place, and it’s also named after Therese, the Princess that was married there. It’s pronounced as “Vizen”
- People drank almost 2 million gallons of beer last year!
