According to the East Valley Tribune, AAA reports that Arizona currently has the 9th lowest gas prices in the U.S. and is one of 47 states with averages under $2 a gallon.
This week, the statewide average dropped more than 8 cents to $1.54. Nationwide, prices dipped slightly to $1.72.
In the Phoenix area, drivers are paying $1.45 a gallon, 10 cents less than last week, according to AAA.
Tucson and Flagstaff hold the low and high state fuel averages at $1.62 and $2.06 per gallon, respectively. South Carolina holds the lowest average price per gallon at $1.50 while California drivers have the highest average priceat $2.31 per gallon.
