Claude teaches todays easy shred guitar lick in the key of G and is playing based in the minor pentatonic scale. Johnson demonstrates how to play the lick as follows; 18th fret of the first string with 4th finger to the 15th fret with 2nd finger to the 13th fret with first finger and then shift to the 2nd string starting on the 15th fret with 4th finger to the 13th fret with 2nd finger to the 11th fret with first finger. Claude continues by performing some variations on the sequence to create different licks as well as descending further down the strings and fret board. Some of these sequences are weird and take some practice to get down, says Johnson. Claude says for additional help on this kind of guitar playing to check out his course Supercharged Soloing Made Simple.
