Watson-Marlow Pumps Group announces the launch of its Qdos 60 peristaltic metering pump, designed to reduce chemical metering costs compared to conventional solenoid or stepper-driven diaphragm metering pumps. Qdos 60 eliminates the need for ancillaries, boosts productivity, and cuts chemical wastage due to its highly accurate, linear and repeatable metering. The Qdos 60 model is ideal for disinfection, pH adjustment and flocculation of drinking water, wastewater and industrial process water, as well as reagent dosing and metering in mineral processing tasks. The new model follows the highly successful launch of the revolutionary Qdos 30 pump, expanding the range to incorporate flow rates from 0.001 to 15 GPH 100psi. The Qdos 60 is especially suited to chemical metering applications found in larger water treatment plants where flow demand is greater than that provided by the existing Qdos 30 model.

Due to its high accuracy metering features, the Qdos 60 reduces chemical costs even when metering difficult fluids, or when pressure, viscosity, and solids content vary. This capability combines with peristaltic technology to ensure precise, continuous smooth flow for optimal fluid mixing. Advanced control features include fluid level monitoring, fluid recovery, line priming and intuitive flow calibration. Enhanced pump accuracy enables higher concentration chemicals to be used, thus saving on transport costs and driving down carbon emissions.

Installing Qdos 60 is extremely simple, since the drop-in pump requires no pulsation dampener, strainers or float switches, nor does it require any de-gassing, back-pressure or foot valves. The pump requires little or no upkeep, making it ideal for those with reduced maintenance budgets. With no seals or valves in the Qdos 60 flow path to clog, leak or corrode, there is no opportunity for vapor lock. The pumps high suction lift and viscous handling capabilities eliminates the need for flooded suction, day tanks, and specialist piping schemes.
