The World Branding Forum today announced the appointment of Richard Rowles as its Chairman. A registered non-profit, the organisation seeks to advance the standards, skills and education of those involved in the branding and related industries.
The World Branding Forum produces, manages and supports a whole range of programmes covering research, development, education, recognition, networking and outreach. Its main activities include branding conferences, seminars, talks, debates and workshops. It is also involved with R&D and the implementation of standards, best practice guidelines and tools, as well as other relevant branding initiatives.
Richard Rowles has worked in the advertising and marketing industry for over 25 years, with experience on both the client-side and with integrated agencies. After forming Nautilus PLC, a branding and communications agency, he grew the company through acquisition to create NMI PLC, a large integrated agency based in London and Geneva, with a strong client base including clients such as Proctor and Gamble, London Fashion Week, BBC, Rolex and IPC Magazines. He has also managed major branding projects for KPMG, Temenos Banking and BoConcept. Rowles is currently the Managing Director of communications agency, Odyssey.
The World Branding Forum also runs a sponsorship programme focused mainly on education. Sponsorships are available for non-commercial community projects and are open to registered charities, educational bodies and not-for-profit groups. Applications for 2015 sponsorships will open in August.
The organisation's main recognition programme, the World Branding Awards, is scheduled to be held in London in October. The awards will recognise some of the best global brands for their work and achievements. Uniquely, the awards will be judged through four streams: brand valuation, consumer market research, public online voting, as well as the World Branding Forum's Advisory Council.
