Cardamom Pear Souffle wins a Seasonal Goodies Package, including Frog Hollow’s famous Warren pears, an assortment of conserves and marmalades, freshly-baked cookies, a pear ginger cake, dried fruit, granola, and organic olive oil.
Brentwood, California, United States – November 14, 2013 /MarketersMedia/ —
Congratulations to the winner of Frog Hollow’s “Prepare A Pear” recipe contest, Raymundus Butarbutar.
His recipe for Cardamom Pear Souffle with Frozen Crme Frache, Candied Ginger and Almond Florentine took first prize with 652 votes.
This October, Farmer Al, owner of Frog Hollow, wanted to encourage the use of organic pears as a key ingredient in cooking. With this goal in mind, Farmer Al and Chef Becky launched their ‘Prepare A Pear’ recipe contest wherein they asked America’s cooks to submit their signature pear recipes for a chance to win certified organic pears and other goodies from Frog Hollow Farm.
With so many pear themed recipes to choose from, narrowing it down to a winner was difficult, but Butarbutar’s recipe’s “elegance, different textures and temperatures, and the combination of cardamom, ginger and the slightly caramelized pear juice made it a well-thought out composition of flavors. It was a well-written recipe” according to Chef Becky.
The prize, a Seasonal Goodies Package, including Frog Hollow’s famous Warren pears and an assortment of their conserves and marmalades, freshly-baked cookies, their special pear ginger cake, assorted dried fruit, a bag of granola, and a bottle of their organic olive oil is worth $300.
Butarbutar joined the contest, which he learned about by subscribing to Frog Hollow’s Facebook news feed. “I knew the prizes were going to be amazing, especially the baked goods, jams, and olive oil,” he said. He now looks forward to using the olive oil and fruit for himself and sharing the “jams and dried goodies” with his family at Christmas. “I know they’ll appreciate the gifts very much!”
