Pleasanton, CA (PRWEB) November 29, 2012
Leisure Sports Inc. announced today that its family of fitness clubs—ClubSport, Renaissance ClubSport and The Studio—raised more than $47,000 by hosting special events and classes. The money will go to breast cancer research organizations.
The theme for this year’s annual fundraiser—“Sweat to Fight Cancer”—emphasized the benefits of exercise, which helps fight cancer and aids in recovery. Members and employees of Leisure Sports’ eight fitness clubs raised these funds throughout the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“We are very fortunate to have club members who are excited to participate and give generously to the cause,” said Ralph Rajs, Vice President of Operations at Leisure Sports. “Our members look forward to these fundraisers. The specialty t-shirts we create to support the event sell out every year.”
All the funds raised will support organizations that provide services related to the fight against cancer. The groups supported by this year’s fundraisers include The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and The Women’s Cancer Resource Center of Oakland, California.
