May you be Blessed with a message of Hope, that you are cared about even though we have not even met –Phil McILveen CEO Seeing the Need /New Exodos
Welcome to the 2012 Campaign - Mental Illness: Where Do We Go From Here?!
Did you know that one in four adults in the United States experience mental illness and the sad news is that their life expectancy is often shortened on average by 25 years compared to the general population due to chronic health conditions? In Arizona this health disparity is nearly 32 years. One out of five children and adolescents suffer from serious behavioral health and emotional challenges. When left untreated they may develope serious mental illness and medical conditions later on in life. For these reasons the focus of our campaign is on three primary areas:
Part I - Understanding Health Disparities
Part II - Understanding the Importance of Whole Health
(Mind, Body + Spirit)
Part III - Learning About Integrated Healthcare Solutions
Only when we bring together experts from the medical, media, civic, education, local business and faith community to collaboratively engage with one another in support and sponsorship of Mental Health in Arizona will we have the collective impact that can make a difference.
Our campaign purpose is to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and reduce stigma associated with mental illness with a goal of providing an opportunity for each of us to impact the lives of our family members, friends, coworkers and especially the people we have not met yet that are still suffering in silence. Join us in this worthy cause to strengthen the health and wellness of our communities!
We are delighted you are with us and thank you for time, contributions and your heart.
Sincerely,
Phillip McIlveen, CEO (Seeing the Need Marketing) &
Tomás León, CEO (People of Color Network)
